David Lamar Phillips

David Lamar Phillips, age 57, of Anderson, passed away at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis on April 11, 2021. He was born in Marietta, GA on June 29, 1963.

David was a wonderful husband, father, grandpa, and friend. His main pride and joy in life was his family. He would do anything for his family. He loved to spend time with everyone in his back yard having cook outs or watching sports. He was an avid sports fan, especially baseball and football. He was a leader for his children’s girl and boy scouts throughout life. He loved attending concerts and listening to music, especially rock n’ roll. David loved life and everything that it could offer him. Nothing kept him down, no matter what. His favorite part of the day would be whenever he could watch cartoons with his grandchildren. David will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

David is survived by his wonderful wife of 40 years, Jacqueline Phillips; children Jamie Lane, Bridget Passmore, Brena Lasley (Zachary), Evelyn Phillips, and Kattey-Kay Phillips; grandchildren Joshua Copeland, Aaron Aldridge, Nicholas Aldridge, Savannah Phillips, Destiny Passmore, Dalton Lasley, Landon Lasley, Paxton Lasley, David Phillips III, Isabelle Phillips, and Benjamin Smith.

He is preceded in death by his mother Gladys Phillips; and sons Nicholas Lane and David Phillips II.

A visitation will be held on Friday, April 16, 2021 from 2-3pm with a funeral service beginning at 3pm at Legacy Cremation and Funeral Service – Anderson.
