David R. Eaton, 86, of Indianapolis, passed away Tuesday, February 22, 2022 surrounded by family. He was born on November 15, 1935. He graduated from Cathedral High School in 1953. David went on to attend Purdue University, where he played the trumpet in the Purdue Marching Band. He retired from Eli Lilly in 1993.
David is a long-time member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church, where he enjoyed being a Eucharist Minister for many years. He was an avid bowler and a top man on Eli Lilly’s bowling league for many years.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Russell L. Eaton and Catherine Gertrude Eaton; and grandson, T.J. Ross.
David is survived by his wife of 67 years, Rosemary L. Eaton; sons, David R. Eaton Jr., Daniel E. Eaton, Timothy J. Eaton, Ronald J. Eaton; daughters, Kathleen M. Ross and Elizabeth A. Scott; 13 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; brother, James Eaton; sister-in-law, Dee Dee Eaton; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Monday, February 28, 2022, from 4pm to 8pm at Legacy Cremation & Funeral Services, 5215 N. Shadeland Avenue, with a rosary to start at 6pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 12pm on Tuesday, March 1, 2022, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, 4790 N. Shadeland Avenue. Entombment to follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens, Fishers, IN.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Lawrence Catholic Church.
