Delores Jane Dalton

Delores Jane Dalton, 89, of Indianapolis, passed away on November 8, 2021. She was born on November 12, 1931 in Linton, IN to the late Francis Martin and Pauline Hessie (Jarmon) Strouse. Delores attended Manuel High School. She worked as a secretary for Sheats Tool and Supply company, and a bookkeeper for Modern Cleaning and Rickleff Painting; retiring in 2012.

Delores loved to cook, spend time with family, and watch the Indianapolis Colts play football.

She is preceded in death by her parents, mentioned above; her husband of 20 years, Luren Dalton Sr.; and her sister, Nettie Backhoff.

Delores is survived by her son, Luren “Skip” Dalton Jr.; daughter, Joy Steeb (Lawrence Steeb); 9 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, and 3 nieces.

Visitation is from 12:30pm to 1:30pm on Monday, November 15, 2021 at Legacy Cremation & Funeral Services, 5215 N. Shadeland Avenue, with a service to start at 1:30pm. Burial to follow at Washington Park East Cemetery, Indianapolis, IN.
