Dolores Jean Gadient “Lorey” (84) went to be with her Lord on March 10th,2016. She was born in Indianapolis, Indiana April 2, 1931. Her parents were the late Elza and Audrey Brown. She is survived by her daughters Terri Smith (Jerry), Cathy Schwertz (Dave) and Stepson,Charles E. Gadient II (Donna), 6 Grandchildren: Colin (Stacey), Heather, Courtney, Brooke, Stephanie, and Brian and 8 Great-Children: Cole, Carly, Clay, Asia, Isaac, Ivan, Aubree, and Brielle. She is preceded in death by her parents and her late husband Charles E. Gadient. As well as a brother Clifford Brown, and sisters Mildred Ware and Vivian McMichael. Grand-daughter Brooke Smith.
Lorey retired from Dow Chemical after 22 years of service. She lived for her family and would spend every moment she could with them. She loved large family dinners and was an excellent cook. She counted down the days to the next holiday so everyone could be together. Her specialties included baked spaghetti dish,chili, cheese cakes, and pineapple upside down cake. She loved sweets and could always be found with a cup of coffee in hand. In addition to spending time with her family she enjoyed hosting euchre parties, playing poker and the slot machines. She also looked forward to playing the Hoosier Lotto. She loved to dance(especially to Rocky Top) and always looked forward to going out to eat. She enjoyed gardening and always had a yard of beautiful flowers. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
Services will be at 1pm on Thursday, March 17, 2016 at Legacy Cremation & Funeral Services – Lawrence, 5215 N. Shadeland Avenue,with visitation from 12pm until the time of service. Burial to immediately follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, Indianapolis, Indiana.
