Donald "Don" A. Kraft

Donald “Don” A. Kraft, 89 of Greenwood, Indiana passed away at The Villages hospital in The Villages, Florida on September 10^th, 2018. Don was born on April 23^rd, 1929 in Chicago Illinois. At the age of 8 he attended a one room school house named after his family, Jibson School. Don always said going from the big city to working on the farm was difficult. Don graduated from Tech High School. He played the saxophone in his personal time and enjoyed collecting coins. Following high school, he joined the Naval reserves and started his career at Western Electric/ AT&T. In the 1950’s he married the love of his life, Betty Jean Kraft. They spent 56 years of marriage together before Betty passed away. Don then decided he didn’t want to spend another cold winter in Indiana and moved to Leesburg Florida in the spring of 2018. Don was a loving man. He was loved by many. Most importantly Don loved the Lord. Don not only loved the Lord but he loved his family. He wished all his children to be Godly children.

Don is preceded in death by his parents, Allen Benawa and Pansy Faith (Jibson) Kraft. He is also preceded in death by his loving wife, Betty Jean Kraft, sisters; Myrtle Kraft and twin Mary Kraft- Richardson, Eleanor Kraft-Ramsey, Children; Donald Lee Kraft, Gary Allen Kraft, and James Robert “Bobby” Flatt.

Don is survived by; Brother, John D. Kraft. Children; Pam Nelson, Cindy Hart (Charlie), Karen Calbow (Richard “Dick”), Diana Kraft-Hiatt, William Edward Kraft (Teresa), Deborah Kay Younger (Scott), David T. Kraft, and Linda Carol Kraft. He is also survived by 55 Grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Don will be at the Community Church of Greenwood, 1477 W. Main st., Greenwood, Indiana 46142. Visitation will be held Thursday, September 20^th, 2018, 11:00am – 1:00pm. Funeral service to follow at 1:00pm. Immediately following will be a Crypt side committal at Washington Park East Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Community Church of Greenwood.
