Donald Gary Eaglin

Donald Gary Eaglin, 82, of Anderson, Indiana, passed away peacefully on March 15th, 2025; he was born on April 17, 1942 in Madison, Indiana, to Theodore N. Eaglin and Naomi Ruth (Mikesell) Farmer, Don moved to Anderson at the age of eight. He was a graduate of Anderson High School. After graduation, he answered the call to serve his country by joining the United States Navy, where he spent time in the Mediterranean.

Don worked hard and retired from Delco Remy. An avid fisherman, Don found peace and joy on the water with a fishing rod in hand. He was also a faithful member of Grace Baptist Church for over 50 years, where his friendly and quirky spirit was felt by many. Music was woven throughout Don’s life. He had a deep love for gospel, jazz, and blues and shared his gift as a tenor singer in two gospel quartets: The Gospel Messengers and The Watchmen.

Don is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Kay F. (Dellingner) Eaglin; daughters, Misty (Todd) Huffer and Joyce (Thomas) Doerr; his sister, Augusta Lynn (Jon) Porter and stepsister, Leah (Gary) Ferguson; and his brother, Theodore A. (Judy) Eaglin.

He was a proud grandfather to Beau (Angie) Huffer, Brady (Jessica) Huffer, Andrew Huffer, Jakob (Samantha) Johnson, Justin Johnson, Adriana (Justin) Collins, Thomas (Leslie) Kemp, and Lyndi Martin. His legacy continues through his 13 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews, who brought him endless joy and smiles.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Theodore N. Eaglin and Naomi Ruth (Mikesell, Eaglin) Farmer.

Don will be remembered for his unwavering faith, his love of music, and the kindness he showed to everyone he met. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
