Donald G. Wright, passed away on March 28, 2025, in Anderson, Indiana, at the age of 93. Born on February 2, 1932, in Muncie, Indiana.
For over 30 years, Donald built his career at Delco Remy, where his unwavering commitment and expertise earned him the respect of his colleagues and peers. In the 1970s, he ventured into entrepreneurship by owning a small engine repair shop in Alexandria, reflecting his passion for mechanics and service to the community.
Donald was known for his stubborn and opinionated nature, which often sparked engaging conversations among friends and family. Despite his strong views, those who knew him best will remember his ability to embrace life with a hearty laugh and a willingness to have a good time. He was a proud Army Veteran who served in the Korean War.
Outside of work, Donald had a deep appreciation for the great outdoors. He enjoyed fishing and camping, activities that brought him close to nature and provided a much-loved escape from the busyness of life. His fondness for these pursuits created cherished memories, both alone and with those fortunate enough to join him.
Donald is survived by his children Bryan Wright, John Kinley (Connie), Spencer Kinley (Leslie), and Sue Kinley; grandchildren April Earhart, Crystal Brattain, Amanda Moon, Michael Kinley, Jordan Kinley, and Jeremy Kinley; 13 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents Kenneth Wright and Mildren Chamberlin; son Kevin Wright; his first wife Katherine Grissom in 1973 and late wife Shirley Kinley in 2008; siblings Phil Eikenberry and Peggy Dollens.
