Donnie E. Wheeler

Donnie Earl Wheeler, 70, of Indianapolis, passed away on June 26, 2020. He was born on October 6, 1949 in Bowling Green, KY to Chester and Mabel Hollis. He worked for the Marion County Health Department for 20+ years, retiring in 2014.

Donnie loved to fish. His favorite fishing hole was at Boone’s pond. He also enjoyed watching television and reading the Bible.

Donnie is preceded in death by his mother, Mabel Hollis; brother, Robert Wayne Wheeler and granddaughter, Portia Wheeler.

Donnie is survived by his wife, Karen Wheeler; daughters, Donna Wheeler, Lisa Myers (James); son, Craig Wheeler (Becky); 9 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is from 11am to 12:30pm on Tuesday, July 7, 2020 at Legacy Cremation & Funeral Services, 5215 N. Shadeland Avenue, with the service to start at 12:30pm at the funeral home. Entombment to follow at Washington Park East Cemetery, Indianapolis, IN.
