Dora Erickson
Dora Marie Erickson, 85, Madison County, Indiana, resident since 1944 in Alexandria & Daleville passed away in Indianapolis on February 23rd. Dora retired from Delco Remy Division of General Motors, Anderson. She enjoyed retirement at Lost Lake & her “Dora’s Country” Flea Market Booth.
Dora was born in Coy, Arkansas in 1930, to Luke Allen Weaver, WW 1 Veteran & Cecil Beatrice Harris-Weaver. Dora is preceded in death by her parents, daughter Linda Blohm-Foxworthy, former spouses Charles Blohm, Ronnie Erickson & Martin Earl Vollenhals; nephew, Sammy Miller; brother John Thomas Weaver; sisters Mildred Weaver-Pierce, Barbara Weaver-Pollard & Margie Weaver; sisters-in-law Wanda Teague-Weaver & Marie Gordon-Weaver; brother-in-law John Smith; & great grandson, Lucas Shane Murphy, II.
She is survived by brothers, Ernest Lee Weaver (twin), Alexandria, & Claude Eugene Weaver, Elwood; sister Daisy Mary Smith, Daleville; daughters Claudia Blohm-Hilligoss, Indianapolis; Ruth Erickson, Union City; Katie Vollenhals-Bell (Chester), Muncie; son-in-law Carl Foxworthy, Marion; six grandchildren: Paula Schmidt-Hobbs, Indianapolis; David Schmidt, Alexandria; Jennifer Hilligoss-Shaul (Stephen), Morgantown; Curtis Hilligoss (Linda), Union, KY; Lucas Shane Murphy (Amanda), Sacramento, CA; & Kyle Marcus Erickson (Anastasia), Speedway; sixteen great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews & her Golden Retriever Honey.
A service will be held Monday, March 7th at Legacy Cremation & Funeral Services, 504 West 9th Street, Anderson, from 11AM until time of funeral at 1PM with Pastor Gary Lovens officiating. Burial will follow at Park View Cemetery in Alexandria
