Doris "Denie" J. Lee

Doris “Denie” Lee, 61, of Indianapolis, went to her Heavenly Home on September 1, 2019.  She was born on March 6, 1958 in Marion, Alabama to Helen Wright and Willie C. McLaughlin. Denie graduated from Arlington High School (Indianapolis, IN) in 1976.  She worked for Cigna Insurance. She had a love for music, thrift shopping, entertaining and cooking for friends and family in her home. She was a faithful member of Berean Bible Church, where she previously served as an usher.  She greeted everyone who attended with an infectious smile and hug. Denie accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age and continued her walk with the Lord throughout her life. 

Denie is survived by her daughter, Yannicka Ghoston; her mother, Helen Wright; and her siblings, Sandra Lee, Glenn Lee, Gary Lee (Dana), Gregory Lee (Tina), Otis Lavell Banks, Lewell Sullivan, Sheila Anderson, Cassandra Johnson, and Willie C. McLaughlin (Beverly). She is preceded in death by her young son, Cecil Kennedy; her father, Willie C. McLaughlin; and her sister, Marie Lee.

A Homegoing Celebration will begin at 11am on Saturday, September 14, 2019 at Berean Bible Church, 5602 N. Allisonville Road, with visitation starting at 10am until the start of the service.  Burial to follow at Crown Hill Cemetery, Indianapolis, IN.  Arrangements provided by Legacy Cremation & Funeral Services – Lawrence.  

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to her daughter, Nicka Ghoston.
