Dorothy Diane Johnson

Dorothy Diane Johnson, aged 78, of Anderson, Indiana, passed away unexpectedly on February 15, 2025. Born on June 26, 1946, in Anderson, IN. 

Diane spent her life serving others as a devoted caretaker and caregiver across various medical fields and to all of her family. Her commitment to nurturing and caring for those around her was evident not only in her professional endeavors but also in her personal life where she brought warmth and love to everyone fortunate enough to cross her path.

Diane was known for her loving nature, steadfastness, and energetic spirit. She possessed a remarkable zest for life that made every moment spent in her company special. Her quick wit and humor put smiles on faces, and she had an extraordinary ability to ensure that no one ever left her home hungry or empty-handed. Diane was an exemplary hostess who embraced the joy of family gatherings and holidays, always welcoming loved ones with open arms.

Among her cherished pastimes, Diane enjoyed visiting the casino, nurturing her plants, and creating memorable experiences for her family. Her strong personality made her a beloved figure among family and friends, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Diane is survived by her son Zach Johnson; grandchildren Michael Stephenson Jr. and Jerry Stephenson; several great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews Cortney Throgmorton (Sarah Bullis), Branden Throgmorton (Markie), Thomas Throgmorton (Moriah), Michelle Johnson, and Dustin "Bubby" Johnson (Carrie); many great nieces and nephews; Cousin Sharon Robinson; sister-in-law Toni Throgmorton; brother-in-law Dennis Johnson; and her beloved dog Suzie. 

She is preceded in death by her husband Duane Johnson; brother Gary Throgmorton; parents Ervin Goad and Dorothy Throgmorton; stepfather Billy Throgmorton; sons Jerry Stephenson and Michael Stephenson Sr., sister Patricia Goad, brother Billy Throgmorton, sister-in-law Virginia Johnson, and mother and father-in-law Chester and Leona Johnson. 

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, followed by a funeral service beginning at 1:00 PM at Legacy Cremation and Funeral Services - Anderson, 504 W 9th St, Anderson, IN 46016. Burial will take place at Grove Lawn Cemetery.
