Dorothy Louise Barker

Dorothy Barker, loving mother, and grandmother passed away at the age of 83 on Wednesday, February 187, 2021.  Dorothy was born in Jasonville, IN on August 29th, 1937 to Charles and Mary Downing. She was the baby of the family, being the 10th child out of 10.

She married Frank Barker, and they raised 4 children together. She was a caring and giving grandmother to 6 grandkids. She put her love for God first and foremost in her life. Dorothy attended Berean Baptist Church for nearly 50 years.

Her love for her family, Elvis, and Nascar was undeniable. She enjoyed spending time at the pool with her grandkids, where she could easily work on her tan. Playing card games, bingo, and dominos with family was her favorite way to pass time. She had a passion for traveling across the country and around the world, traveling to 32 states with her husband Frank and children. She also traveled to 3 different countries in her younger years.

Dorothy was preceded in death by Frank, her mother Mary, her father Charles, and son Tony Barker.

She is survived by her 3 children Darlene Campbell (Chuck), Gregory Barker (Lynn), Deanna Mullen (A.J), and 6 grandchildren, Rachael Campbell, Scott Campbell, Elisha Barker, Sabrina Mullen, Brandon Mullen, and Brianna Mullen. As well as several cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Her celebration of life will be held on Thursday, February 25th, 2021 at Berean Baptist Church. The viewing will be 11 o’clock am to 12 o’clock pm, service 12 o’clock pm to 1 o’clock pm.
