Dorothy Temple Phillips

Dorothy Temple Phillips, age 75, of Alexandria, passed away on October 16, 2020 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born in Hartford, KY to Garland Junior Pickerill and Dorothy Chinn Barnes.

Temple was a wonderful wife, mother, sister, and friend. She loved to travel, go to the casino, and bowl whenever she could. She was loving to everyone, never meeting a stranger. She was an avid animal lover and was always feeding and helping any animal in need. Temple was always there for family and friends and would do anything for anybody. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Ralph Phillips; children Tom Burton (Angie), Heath Burton (Carrie), and Lisa Thompson; siblings Linda Rawlins (Ron Cox), Eugene Pickerill (Marti Hall), Larry Pickerill (Mary), Michael Pickerill (Marie), Janet Oliver (Ed), Jewel Pickerill (Kenny Farenbacher), Darryl Pickerill (Donna), Paul Pickerill, Judy Hudnall (Gary), Sherry Evans, Lori Cumbee (Vic), and Anna Ridener; Several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents listed above; stepmother Minnie Pickerill, sister Brenda Johnson, brothers Richard Pickerill and Charles Pickerill; stepbrother Jim Wolf, stepbrother Carl “Eddie” Barnes, and step-father Carl Willis Barnes.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society in memory of Temple. A special thank you to Mike Owens, for everything he did for the family.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday October 21, 2020 from 1-3pm with a funeral service beginning at 3pm. Burial will take place at Parkview Cemetery in Alexandria.
