Douglas Duane Lyons

Douglas Duane Lyons, age 66, currently residing in Anderson, IN, passed away on May 4, 2023, at Community Hospital in Anderson. He was born in Chicago, IL on June 18, 1956, to the late Dean and Ruby (Kammermann) Lyons.

Doug grew up in Chicago, IL, graduating from Hubbard High School. He attended Illinois State University for several years. For 23 years, Doug worked for United Airlines at O’Hare International Airport on ramps and baggage claim. Doug was as loyal and honest as they came. He was a hard worker, quick witted, and extremely dedicated to his family. Family was always a priority to Doug. Horses were Doug’s passion and he currently worked at Hoosier Park Casino and Racetrack, working with them. He was a wonderful brother, uncle, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Doug is survived by his brothers Dennis Lyons and Darryl Lyons; nephew Joseph Lyons; and Cousin Connie Frerichs (Bob).

He is preceded in death by his parents listed above, cousin David Zirkle, aunts Ruth, Helen, and Maybelle, and Uncle Bud.

A Celebration of Life will be held on May 22, 2023 from 3-430pm with a funeral service beginning at 430pm.
