Duane Washburn Obituary
Duane G Washburn passed away unexpectedly on Monday, March 21, 2022, in Speedway, IN at age 70. He was born on April 16, 1951, in Kansas City, Missouri to Robert and Isabelle Washburn, both deceased. He was also pre-deceased by his stepmother Betty Brock Washburn and stepsister Pam Lappies. The family made their home in Speedway, Indiana in 1956. Duane was a 1970 graduate of Speedway High School. He attended Florida College in Tampa for two years where he made many life-long friends. Duane was a “people person” and had a knack for connecting with people of all ages and backgrounds. He was a true-blue friend who would drop everything to help another. He had a servant’s heart. In 1983 he married Carol Boswell, and she survives. He leaves behind their four children, all in the Indianapolis area: Thomas (Rachel) Washburn, Anna (Kyle) Morris, Andrew Washburn, and Elizabeth (Andres) Pong. He loved being a grandpa to Nick, Emma, Graham, Natalia, and Harvey. His surviving siblings include Baird (Diane) Washburn, Linda (Dale) Thrasher, and a stepsister Sandra (Vic) Ramsey. Duane was a journeyman electrician with Local 481. He was a member of the Brownsburg church of Christ.
Calling will be Saturday, March 26 at Brownsburg church of Christ, 3300 Hornaday Rd. Brownsburg, IN 46112 from 10:00 AM – 12PM with services immediately following. Burial will be at West Ridge Park Cemetery.
