A Life Well Lived
Eddie was born on November 19th, 1943 in Penton, Mississippi. He received his education at Delta Center High School in Penton where he met his first love Miss Bobbie Jean Jackson—their courtship grew and before long they were married and starting a family. After marrying Bobbie Jean Hargrow in 1963, they moved to Indianapolis, IN and they continued to grow their family to five beautiful children.
Eddie continued his education, earning his vocational certificate in Masonry at Ivy Tech State College in 1968. Eddie grew in his profession and was one of the most sought-after masons in the whole state. It was not uncommon for Eddie to be the first person thought of when a big construction job was awarded. Because of his talent he worked on several Indianapolis landmarks including Market Square Arena and the famous I-70 interstate that still transports millions of drivers from coast to coast. Eddie was proud of his accomplishments and was known to pile his family into their car to show off his work. Eddie retired as Cement Mason after 33 years of service still at the top of his game and one of the best in the business!
Eddie accepted Christ and was Holy Ghost filled at Allen Chapel Church of Our Lord Jesus, which is now Cathedral of Praise COGIC, in 1971, under the leadership of Pastor Edgar Allen, Senior and Edgar Allen, Junior (now Bishop Edgar Allen). As a member of Allen Chapel and because of his faithfulness Eddie was quickly elevated to Deacon, where he worked diligently to help grow the church. Eddie loved fishing and gardening. He grew some of the best vegetables which he shared freely with his family and neighbors alike. Family was his other most favorite thing, and spending quality time with his children and grandchildren was what he loved up until his departure. Eddie will be loved and cherished by family, friends, and all who knew him.
Eddie is survived by his five children; Eddie Kendrick (Byron), Freddie Hargrow, Diann Hargrow, Charles Hargrow (LaQuita), and Shawn Overton, Six Siblings; Johnnie Morris, Mary Helen Morris, Thelma Bunton (Tommy), Lizzie Morris, Mamie Simpson, and Barbara Morris, 16 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his Mother, Mamie Morris, one sister Helen Dunn, and two brothers, James Hargrow, Senior and Charles Adams.
The psalmist wrote:
I’ll fly away, oh glory, I’ll fly away
When I die, hallelujah by and by, I’ll fly away
Some bright morning when this life is over, I’ll fly away
To a land on God’s celestial shore, I’ll fly away
Eddie Hargrow mounted up on eagle’s wings and few into the arms of his waiting Savior on Tuesday, January 8th, 2019 at the age of 75.

To Our Dad
It’s so hard to say good bye Dad
We’ll remember the good times and try not to be sad.
But saying goodbye hurts so bad.
We will miss you more than we can express
We know you’re in heaven looking down on all 5 of us
We will remember you each and every day
And when we need to talk to you, we will kneel down and pray .
Do us one last favor, hug our mother like there’s no other.
Your Children Eddie, Freddie, Diann, Shawn and Charles
