Edith "Edie" Campbell

Edith “Edie” Laura (Meyer) Campbell, 92, of Indianapolis, IN, passed away at her home on October 2, 2022.  She was born on May 23, 1930, in Mount Kisco, NY to the late Grover and Estelle (Baggott) Meyer.  Edie received her Bachelor of Science degree from Goucher College.   Edie was a member of St. Alban’s Episcopal Church, and volunteered at Crossroads and in the Indianapolis Public Schools with preschool and elementary students for over 20 years.

Edie was a devoted member of St. Alban’s, she rarely missed a Sunday service. Edie was a huge part of the ministry of the church, with her great personality and caring soul.  She will be greatly missed by all.

Edie loved to work crossword puzzles, play solitaire on her computer, watch sports on tv and spend time with children and family.

She is preceded in death by her parents, mentioned above; husband, Robert L Campbell; and her brother, Kenneth B. Meyer.

Edie is survived by her daughters, Susan Judis (Howard) and Carol Samples (Karl); grandchildren, Linda Kizuka (Thomas), Daniel Wallace (Jody), Kyle Samples (Amanda Le), Kelly Berridge (Benjamin), and Karissa Samples; great grandchildren, Lily Kizuka, Maxwell Kizuka, Rowen Wallace, Piper Wallace, Nhi Le and Vihn Le; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

There will be a burial service on Friday, October 14, 2022, at 11:30am at St. Alban’s Episcopal Church, 4601 N. Emerson Avenue, Indianapolis, IN 46226, with visitation starting at 10:30am.  Arrangements provided by Legacy Cremation & Funeral Services – Lawrence.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Alban’s Episcopal Church.
