Edna Louise Boling-Shahadey received a call from her Guardian Angel that her heavenly presence was requested at 1 pm on Sunday, January, 7th 2018.
That morning she enjoyed a good breakfast, attended chapel service and then took a peaceful nap to awake to the musical sounds of harps and beautiful angelic voices welcoming her home.
She is now reunited with beloved family and friends and they are celebrating her heavenly arrival.
Affectionately known as “Eydie” - she had an inner beauty that equally presented itself through her timeless physical beauty.
She enjoyed being “Fixie” and still looked fabulous at the young-age of 90 1/2.
Eydie was always charitable and maintained a deep spiritual faith in the Lord.
She did not possess significant worldly wealth, but always made a point to help those in need. Deliveries of warm blankets were frequently donated to shelters across Indiana.
This past Christmas 2017, Eydie had so much fun. She donned a “Santa hat” - took “selfie’s with” and gave presents to everyone who spent their Christmas Day caring for the residents of Allisonville Meadows.
Among her many talents Eydie was an amazing artist she hand-crafted beautiful award winning porcelain dolls, painted scenes of nature, danced and played drums in a fusion-dance company and wrote inspirational stories that were distributed to nursing home residents and locally published.
Eydie loved her family and friends more than words can adequately describe. She prayed for all by name nightly and coined the phrase, “Umbrella of Love”. If you are reading this message, please remember you are always showered in prayers of love from this world and beyond.
Dementia is a tough disease, but Eydie was a fighter. She never complained through all of it’s physical challenges. She kept faith and persevered until God granted her entrance to the Pearly Gates.
