Edwin "Ed" Ivan Smith

Edwin I. “Ed” Smith was born on July 24, 1953 in Indianapolis, Indiana. Ed passed away on September 13, 2021. He is proceeded in death, by his mother Margret Smith. He was married for over 43 years to his wife Mattie Smith. He had 3 sons Mitchell Young (Candy), Henry King, (Katrina), and William Smith (Amanda) . As well as his four grandchildren Wyatt, Wade, Little Will, and Ciera. Ed worked for Speedway 500 Avis Rent a Car, Enterprise Car Rental, and was a bus driver for Fed Ex. He was very active in  the American Legion Post 64; as well as the Chaplin and 2^nd vice commander.  He loved his position, and was a very happy man. He always made those around him laugh, and brought joy to all who knew him. Service for Ed will be held on Tuesday September 28th at 1:00 p.m. at Legacy Cremation & Funeral Services – Indianapolis, burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memory Garden in Greenwood with full military honors, friends are invited to visit with the family on Monday September 27^th from  4:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
