Elbert “Pete” Kilbourne, Jr., 86 of Mooresville, Indiana went to be with the Lord on March 31, 2016.He is the son of Elbert P. Kilbourne, Sr and Mary Elizabeth (Shuler) Kilbourne. He was a loving husband, father, and papaw to his family. Pete is retired from Allisons where he worked for over 40yrs. He is a veteran of the United States Army, where he served his country proudly. He also owned his own company E.P. Kilbourne gravel and top soil, he volunteered for the Wayne Township Fire Department. Pete was an active member of Camby Community Church. He was a happy go lucky person. You could always catch him singing a tune. Pete was a fan of Auto Racing, and proudly wore many of his racing t-shirts to prove it. He loved to tell a story, and would share his life experiences with anyone that would listen. Pete will leave behind the love of his life Wanda Kilbourne of 63yrs, 6 children; 13 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 1 sister; and 5 brothers to cherish his memories and the legacy he has left. To quote Pete, when you asked how he was, he would reply “Getting older and better looking”.
Visitation will be held on April 5, 2016 at Legacy Cremation & Funeral Services 1604 W. Morris St, Indianapolis, IN from 12PM to 2PM with funeral service at 2PM. Burial will follow at Floral Park Cemetery.
