Elisa Marie Proctor

Elisa Marie Proctor passed away unexpectedly of natural causes April 5, 2025, just days short of her daughter Oaklyn’s sixth birthday. Born September 19, 1983 in Indianapolis to Sheryl (Silcox) Proctor-Bloom and Mark Proctor, Elisa’s greatest joy in life was her special relationship as a mom to Oaklyn. She was so proud to enroll her daughter in Daisy Girl Scouts, to help with this year’s cookie drive, and watch as Oaklyn learned to swim and play basketball and soccer. Elisa and Oaklyn made a habit of snuggling together to read lots of books, work puzzles and watch Disney movies. There were trips to the zoo and cooking up fun desserts too. As mommy, she made sure to review Oaklyn’s school papers every single day and encourage her girl along the way. Every step forward that Oaklyn made in school, sports and growing up made Elisa very proud.

A graduate of Lawrence North High School, Elisa was known by family and friends for her sense of humor. She tended to be a quiet person, but deep down Elisa was funny. She knew just when to slide a witty zinger into the conversation and crack everybody up with a dry delivery. She was dedicated and hardworking at every job and a true, loyal and thoughtful friend with a kind heart. She gladly shared her talents with the people she loved, creating handmade cross-stitch pieces as gifts time and again. She found joy in music, whether it was playing her flute at family events or sitting around the campfire singing along with her dad’s music. There were countless and sometimes rowdy games of euchre, Pounce and board games accompanied by oh so many laughs. Elisa’s deviled eggs and 5-cup salad were perfection and always found their way to pitch-ins with her mother and father’s large extended families.

Elisa was loved by so many people during her short life. Her loss is immeasurable to Oaklyn, her parents, as well as older brothers Aaron (Aloha) Proctor and Matthew (Shannon) Proctor. She is survived by friend and Oaklyn’s father, Eric “E” Jordan; nephews, David and Nick; nieces, Saturn and June; stepfather, Edward Bloom; as well as multiple aunts, uncles and cousins on the Silcox and Proctor sides of her family. Elisa was preceded in death by her grandparents, Juana and Ken Silcox and Rosemary and Paul Proctor.

A celebration of life service will be hosted by Elisa’s family at 3 p.m., Saturday, May 3 at The Church Within, 1125 Spruce St., Indianapolis, IN 46203. Guests are invited to stay following the service for light food and visiting.
