Elizabeth Yvonne Short, age 51, of Anderson, went to be with Jesus on December 20, 2020 at St. Vincent Hospital in Anderson from complications from surgery. She was born on October 2, 1969 to the late Leroy and Bonnie Stephenson.
Liz was a graduate of Anderson High School, class of 1988. During that time, she was a proud member of the marching Indians, playing the saxophone. After high school, she received an Associates Degree from Ivy Tech. Later, she worked as a beautician before working for the City of Anderson as a secretary for the street department and then as mechanic support in the water department.
Liz grew up attending Glad Tidings Church in Anderson. She recently re-dedicated her life to the Lord and was re-baptized. She was extremely proud to be a part of Celebrate Recovery at Madison Park Church of God. She spent a lot of her time rehabilitating animals, spending time outdoors in nature, and doing anything that had to do with arts and crafts. She was a very talented artist. Her and Wayne, her late husband were also members of the Piston Poppers. She was very proud of her children and grandchildren. She loved her grandbabies deeply- always wanting to spend all her time with them. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Liz is survived by her children Ashley Dailey (Trevor), Jamie Edwards, and Billy Edwards (Victoria); grandchildren Keagan, Laynie, Charlee, Nakya, Jamya, Kayson, and many "adopted" grandkids who called her nana; sister Lisa Auler (Joey); aunts Barbara Stephenson and Thelma Clark; nieces Meghan Zook (Chad), Amber Estes (Sky), Brittany Wilson, and several others; sister-in-law Phyllis Wilson.
She is preceded in death by her husband Joseph Wayne Short; brother Michael Wilson, parents listed above; grandparents Irene and Frederick Stephenson and Herbert and Eva Kinney.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday December 23, 2020 from 4-5pm with a funeral service beginning at 5pm at Legacy Cremation and Funeral Service – Anderson. Pastor David Shafer will be officiating.
