Ernest ‘Ernie’ Nicholas ‘Nick’ Michael Jr., passed peacefully 2-23-22, at age of 77, with his loving companion, Teresa, by his side.
Known as ‘Nick’ to his Indiana family, and ‘Ernie’ to his California friends, he was born to Ernest Nicholas Michael Sr. and Harriett (Lane) Michael, on January 26, 1945.
Nick and Teresa had a large, blended family that included daughters, Rhonda, Diana, LeAnn (Erica), and Cristal (Danny), Two sons, Nicholas and Rodney (Regina), and several grand children and great grand children.
Also surviving Nick are his two younger brothers, Rex and Walt Michael and a host of cousins whom he was close with.
Originally from Anderson, Indiana, he also spent many years in California.
Nick was very much a man of his generation, always opening a door for someone, lighting someone’s cigarette, or telling a funny joke to make you laugh. He was a very hard worker and kept Sears stocked for many many years.
In his final years, he enjoyed family visiting, his ‘cowboy’ shows, and cheering on the Indianapolis Colts!
Nick was preceded in death by his sisters, Louise Salazar, Jean Darlard, Lolita Michael, and Ramona Michael.
Nick is going to be missed.
Internment of his remains and a memorial service will be held in the spring at Pleasant Walk Cemetery in Anderson where he will join his two youngest sisters who passed at an early age.
