Evelyn Mary Riley

Evelyn Mary Riley, 87, of Indianapolis, IN died on Saturday, October 21, 2017. She was born on May 12, 1930 in Indianapolis to the late Felix J. and Evelyn R. (Mitchell) Crossen.

She attended St. Agnes Academy and St. Mary of the Woods College. She was employed at Eli Lilly in the Scientific Library for over 35 years. She was an avid bridge player and world traveler.

She is survived by her four children, James (Karalee) Riley of Lawrence, IN, Kevin (Jennifer) Riley of Noblesville, IN, Kathleen Riley of Lawrence, IN and Mary (Don) Switalski of Indianapolis, IN; grandchildren, Thomas (Karen) Riley, Sean (Mindy) Riley, Breanne (Ryan) Borne, Kaitlin (Joe) Duran, Jordan Jamison, James (Carleen) Riley-Mercado, Ryan Riley-Mercado, Robert Riley-Mercado, Patrick Riley-Mercado, Jennifer Switalski and Don Switalski, III.; nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Riley; parents; granddaughter, Kelly Riley and son-in-law, Marcos Mercado.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 26 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Legacy Cremation & Funeral Services -Lawrence, 5215 N. Shadeland Ave., Indianapolis. Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, October 27 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, 4650 N. Shadeland Ave., Indianapolis with calling from 9:15 a.m. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Indianapolis. Donations in Ms. Riley’s memory can be made to the USMC Association & Foundation.
