Everett Dorman Holloway

Everett Dorman Holloway, 72, passed away Tuesday, January 16, 2019 at his home in Mooresville, Indiana surrounded by his loving wife and caring nurse, Jennifer Raymond. Everett was born May 29, 1946 to the late Raymond and Lorena Holloway as one of eight children. He attended Emeric Manuel High School.
Everett was preceded in death by his parents, brother Leonard, and sisters Betty Stowe and Helen Hanley. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Susan, children Dale(Christy), Daniel, and Laurel Holloway, and six grandchildren. He is further survived by his siblings: brother Clessie (Brenda), and sisters Wanda O’Brien(Jerry), Nancy Harris(Scott), and Janet Starr(Jim).
Everett was a patriotic man who served two tours of duty in the Vietnam War in the U.S. Army. He later retired from the Indiana Army National Guard after a combined 24 years of service to our nation.
After his return from Vietnam, Everett worked for nineteen years at Bridgeport (Olin) Brass. He next attained a commercial driver’s license and worked as a Teamster and long-haul truck driver until his retirement at age 67.
An avid outdoorsman, Everett served on the board of directors at the Capital City Conservation Club, was a PADI certified deep-water diver. He was a member of Free Mason lodge 723, a prior Chaplain of American Legion Post 103, and a lifetime member of the Veteran of Foreign Wars Post 111.
Everett’s family would like to thank the VA Hospital system and Premier Hospice for their most excellent care of Everett in his time of need.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, January 24, 2019 at Legacy Funeral Services (1604 W. Morris, Indianapolis, IN 46221). Burial will follow at Mooresville Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 4:00 to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, January 23, 2019 also at Legacy Funeral Services.
