Francis R. "Barney" Lantz

Francis R. “Barney” Lantz, 94, passed away on Sunday, July 1, 2018. He was born July 9, 1923 in Richmond, IN, to the late John N. and Carrie (Shepherd) Lantz.

Barney graduated from Fountain City High School, Fountain City, IN; and served in the U.S. Army from 1943-1946. He spent much of his career in sales. A sales promotion with Colgate Palmolive Co. prompted a move from Richmond, IN to Indianapolis, IN. Besides working for Colgate, Barney also worked for Keifer-Stewart Co, Tuborg Beer, Gibson Wine, and retired from Grainger Company.

Barney married Marilyn Nadine “Nikki” Donahue June 10, 1950. Barney was a life member of Whitewater Lodge #159, F&A.M. Richmond, IN. Barney was also a member of Valley of Indpls. Scottish Rite, 32 degree, Murat Shrine of Indpls, IN, and American Legion, Indpls, IN.

Survivors include, son, Jeff (Nina) Lantz of Pompano Beach, FL; daughter, Pat (Larry) Harnish of Greenfield, IN; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Barney is preceded in death by his wife, Nikki Lantz; parents, John and Carrie Lantz; and brothers, John Lantz and Beverly Lantz.

Visitation for Barney will be from 4pm to 8pm on Monday, July 9, 2018 at Legacy Cremation & Funeral Services, 5215 N. Shadeland Avenue, Indianapolis, IN 46226. A private service will be held at a later date. Barney will be laid to rest in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens, Fishers, Indiana.
