Fredrick G. Ball, 85, went to be with Jesus on March 17, 2019. He was born to Keith Ball and Mary Martin of Anderson and attended Pendleton High School.
Fred attended Butler University on a basketball scholarship. He joined the Navy, where he served four years, and starred on the Navy basketball team. He owned and operated restaurants in Florida, and was a manager at Don’s Barbeque in Anderson. During his semi-retirement, he worked at Eastgate True Value in Chesterfield.
Fred was a long-time member of Tabor Church. He succeeded in his dream of growing a strong, loving family to carry on his legacy.
Preceding him in death is his wife, Saundra Ball; father, Keith Ball; mother, Mary Martin; and daughter, Cheryl Ball Overdorf.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Debbie (Brett) Henson and Brenda (Barnes) Vajner; grandchildren, Sarah Henson (Matt) Selee, Nathan (Krystal) Henson, Jacob Henson, Grace Henson (Peyton) Horn, Matt (Ellie) Henson, Brittany Vajner (Brent) Woolard, Brandon Vajner (fiance India), Brooke Vajner (Jacob) Folkner, Jordan (Merry) Overdorf, and Rachel Overdorf; great-grandchildren, Tiana, Raeden, and Asher Selee; Ayden and Zephen Henson, Bailey and Tenley Vajner, Landon and Addie Grace Folkner, Eli and Teddy Overdorf. Also left are special friends, Dick and Judy Stephens.
The family wished to express a special thank you to the Tabor Church body for the love, support, meals, visits and prayers. Special thanks to Keystone Woods staff and the doctors, nurses, techs and custodial staff of Community Hospital’s 5th floor.
Visitation with the family is Wednesday, March 20, 2019, at Legacy Cremation & Funeral Services from 10AM – 1PM. The service will be at 1PM with burial to follow immediately at Grovelawn Cemetery in Pendleton.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Tabor Church to support the Al Massira Ministry.
