Frederick Eugene Miller

Frederick E. Miller, loving father and grandfather, of Markleville, Indiana, passed away peacefully on April 9, 2025, with his family by his side. Fred was born on July 19, 1933, to Harold and Edna Miller (Brewer).

He was proceeded in death by his beloved wife of 64 years, Delores Leakey Miller; his oldest son, Gary Eugene Miller; his parents, Harold (Lettie) Miller and Edna Brewer; his brothers, Ed Miller and Paul Miller; and his sister, Martha Warner.

Fred is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Lois Miller of Shirley, IN; daughter-in-law, Cathy Miller of Pendleton, IN; granddaughters, Brandi Miller of Middletown, IN and Kalei (Chris) Cole of New Castle, IN; great grandsons, Jarren Yost, Caleb Yost, Jaydon Brown, Landon King and Easton Cole; bonus great grandsons, Chris Cole Jr and Bently Cole; and sister, Dorothy (Edgil) Fairchild, as well as many cherished brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.

Fred was a proud Veteran of the US Army. Fred was a devoted 51-year member of the Markleville Masonic Lodge, where he completed his Master Masons degree on 11/17/2023. He served as the Master of the Lodge in 1982. He received the Award of Gold on 11/17/2023 for 50 years as a member. His service as a Mason was a very important part of his life.

Fred's greatest joy was spending time with his sons and his family. He was an avid storyteller who loved to share stories of his life. He enjoyed bird watching, fishing and was an expert Sudoku player.

Services for Fred will be held at the Legacy Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 16, 2025. Visitation hours will be 1:00pm -3:00pm with the service starting at 3:00pm.
