Fredie "Corkey" Durant Walker

Corkey Walker, age 61, passed away Sunday, March 27, 2022, at Community Hospital. He was born on May 6, 1960, in Sylacauga, Alabama to Chris and Louise (Price) Walker.

Corkey worked in construction, concrete, and remodeling during his life. His attention to detail, knowledge, and skills were relied upon by everyone he knew for doing the right job. He loved to spend time with his family and friends playing golf and he never turned down a game of pool. Corkey had long hair through and through. He liked a beer or two or threeeeeeee!!! He is best known for his cut off t-shirts and bandanas. Corkey also loved taking his mom to Wal-Mart, hahaha!

Corkey is survived by his children Christopher Walker, Stacey Jo (Walker) Smith, Valerie Walker; Britni Riley and Wesley Riley; mother Louise Walker; siblings Donna (Walker) Davis, Chris Walker Jr., Cheryl (Walker) Young and David Walker; several grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins, and of course, many friendships he developed over the years.

He is preceded in death by his father Chris Walker Sr., and just recently, his nephew Jason Walker.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2022, at 2pm at the Veterans of Madison County, 3601 E, 10^th St. Anderson.
