A man of many passions, Gary's interests included a love for Nascar and watching football. He cherished being outside, particularly when fishing with his best friend, Jake, and enjoyed the thrill of mushroom hunting. Additionally, Gary embraced the social challenge of playing pool, an activity that showcased both his competitive spirit and his desire to connect with others.

Gary's personality was defined by a range of qualities that made him a distinctive figure in the lives of those around him. He was known for his stubbornness and tough love, always unafraid to speak the truth, which garnered both respect and admiration from his loved ones. Beneath this robust exterior lay a big heart, characterized by loyalty and deep care for his family, especially his grandchildren, with whom he loved to spend time.

Gary is survived by his children Garry Eckelbarger II (Tricia), Hollie Eckelbarger, Shelly Wiles (Sharon), and Amanda Wiles; grandchildren Faith, Meia, Keyleigh, Skylar, Aleigha, Daniel, Miguel, Juan, Stephen, Olivia, Makaya, Shayla, Robert, Mercedes, Destinie, Victoria, Caleb, and Lovie; many great-grandchildren; brothers Donnie Eckelbarger (Danene) and Bob Eckelbarger (Kathy); best friend Jake Towne; and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his wife Cathy Eckelbarger, daughter Terrie Wiles, grandson Javier Hernandez, and several siblings.

His enduring legacy will be one of resilience and unwavering support for those he cared about throughout his life. Gary is survived by many who will miss his guidance, his candid insights, and the warmth of his affection. His memory will live on in the hearts of those fortunate enough to have known him.
