Gary Glen Gillespie graced this world on January 26, 1942, in Ellettsville, Indiana. His journey came to a peaceful close at the age of 82 on May 11, 2024, in Indianapolis, Indiana. Gary enjoyed a fulfilling career as a professional singer and entertainer with the musical group By Chantz Operations, spreading joy through his music. Additionally, he served as a dedicated driver and Purchasing Agent for Kesler Schaefer Auto.
Gary was a man of many passions and cherished memories. He was a sweet and gentle soul who found solace in the presence of his beloved family and relishing moments spent taking long walks with his wife. Gary was a loving and devoted husband to Christina, his wife of 45 years, and they shared a marriage that was a model for all who knew the couple. He was also a man of deep faith and enjoyed attending church services on Sundays. Gary's hobbies included being a voracious reader and talented singer who even graced the airwaves with his melodious voice.
His commitment extended beyond his career and family as he proudly served as a Veteran of the US Army, embodying loyalty and dedication in all aspects of his life. In his leisure time, Gary found joy in singing and immersing himself in compelling reads.
He now leaves behind cherished memories that will forever live on in the hearts of his surviving family members and friends. Gary is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Christina Marie Gillespie; his daughter, Jessica Gillespie-Manganaro and his son, Kelly Gillespie; his stepchildren: Terry (Jenny) Carr, Kimberly Monroe, Todd (Mandy) Carr, Chad (Andrea) Carr; his grandchildren Kayla, Blake, Madison, Quinton, Mackenzi, Jacob, Taylor, Alaina, Lauren, Dane, Zaavan, Kenneth Cronin Jr., Isaiah, Shae, and Joshua.; Gary also leaves behind four great-grandchildren. Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Valetta Gillespie, and a brother, Mike Gillespie.
A visitation and funeral service to honor Gary's life will be held at Faith Baptist Church at 3860 E Main St., Danville, IN on May 21, 2024. The visitation will occur from 1:00 pm to 3:30 pm and the funeral service will immediately follow the visitation. Let us come together to celebrate the life of an extraordinary individual who touched the hearts of many through his music and presence.
