ANDERSON – Gary Lee Mooney, 69, went to be with the Lord on April 22, 2018 after an extended illness.
Gary enjoyed riding motorcycles, woodworking, fishing, camping, and spending time with his family – especially playing with and making things for his great-grandsons.
Left to treasure Gary’s memory is his wife of fifty years, Barbara (Stevens) Mooney; children, Richard Mooney and Meredith Mooney (Joseph Gee), both of Anderson; granddaughters, Haillie Glover (John VanDuyn) and Sianna Mayes (Shawn) Davidson; great-grandsons, Randynn Burmeister, Klayten VanDuyn and Sabastion VanDuyn; brothers, Terry Mooney of Anderson and Randall Mooney of Atlanta, Indiana; sisters, Susan Mooney Collins (Anna Collins) of Indianapolis, DeRhonda Boots of Greenfield, and Dana Mooney of Indianapolis; step-siblings, Deborah (Patrick) Haus, Danny White and David White; mother-in-law, Helen Neely; sisters-in-law, Terri Mooney of Texas and Marcia (Larry) Huse of Fishers, Indiana; and brother-in-law, Randall (Dianna) Hudson of Florida.
Also surviving are aunts, Lenora Phillips of Anderson, Barbara Roberts of Anderson, and Mary (Cox) Howard of Sullivan, Indiana; uncle, William (Sandra) Mooney of Pendleton; special cousins, Lex (Judy) Duncan of Montpelier. Indiana and Grover (Rexanna) Cox, Jr. of Sullivan, Indiana; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; brother, Jack Mooney; sister, Vicki Waring; father-in-law; and several aunts and uncles.
Visitation will be Thursday, April 26 from 2:00-6:00 PM at Legacy Cremation & Funeral. Services will be Friday, April 27 at noon at Legacy.
