George A. Charles

73, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away on August 29, 2021.  George was born on April 4, 1948 in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Katherine and Dewey Charles.  He was a member of Gospel of Deliverance Church.  He was preceded in death by his brothers, Dewey Charles, Jr. and Orville Charles and his parents.  He is survived by his wife, Betty (Burdine) Charles, their children: Randy Burdine, Malissa (Ernest) Sellers, Tabitha (Dale) Berry, Tammie (Brian) Kelly, Ann (Brian) Newlin and George Charles, Jr.; sisters: Shirley Smyth, Faye Lane, Kaye Mason, Judy Thomas and Sherry Patton and ten grandchildren; Thomas Berry III, Ernest Sellers III, Ariel Elliot, Micaela Burdine, Brock Burdine, Hannah Berry, Kaylee Burton, Alyssa Burton, Gracie Burton, and Isabella Kelly.

 Funeral service will be Friday, September 3, 2021 at 12:00 pm with visitation from 11:00 am till service time at Gospel of Deliverance Church, 2986 S. Roena Street, Indianapolis, IN.  Entombment will follow at Floral Park Cemetery.

Family and friends who wish to send flowers, please have delivered to the church day of service

between 9:30am and 10:30am.

Per family’s request: Anyone who plans to attend the services are required to wear a mask regardless if you have been vaccinated or not. 

Mask will NOT be provided.  Please bring your own.
