George Richard Guinn

George Richard Guinn, 84, of Indianapolis, passed away on November 18, 2021. He was born on April 8, 1937 in Clinton, IN to the late George and Opal Mae (Petty) Guinn. Richard, as he was known by those close to him, was raised in Clinton, IN, with his three siblings. He graduated from Clinton High School in 1955. Richard had a variety of occupations and finished his working years as an optical technician for Eye Specialists of Indiana for ten years.

Richard met the love of his life, Paula Jamison, after she purchased her first car. He was the guy who made certain that the new car was good to drive. Richard started leaving notes for Paula in her mailbox sealing their future 51 years of marriage. They were married on June 7, 1970. He was a great husband, showing his love for Paula and always caring for her. Richard attended Catholic Mass with Paula every week, even though he was Baptist.

Richard loved working in the yard. He enjoyed boating and fishing. He was very talented and could fix almost anything.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Gale Guinn; his daughter, Diane Steward; and his grandson, Jason Guinn.

Richard is survived by his wife of 51 years, Paula Guinn; brother, Wayne Guinn; sister, Marilyn Ford; children, George Guinn Jr., Nancy Liberty, and Darla Guinn; grandchildren Stacy Killion, Jesse Hoggatt, Robert Steward, Amanda Steward, Sarah Rahn, and Lisa Redman; nephews, Kurt Guinn, Gale Guinn Jr, George Guinn, John Guinn, Ronald Guinn; nieces, Beth Ann Guinn and Mary Rolle.

Visitation will be December 2, 2021, at Legacy Cremation and Funeral Services in Lawrence, IN, from 1-2pm with a service following at 2pm. Entombment to follow at Washington Park East Cemetery, Indianapolis, IN. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home or family to help with final expenses.

He lived his life with love for Paula.
