Gerald C. Lemons, Sr., a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, son, and brother, passed away at home on March 18, 2025, at the age of 65, surrounded by the love of his family.
Born on May 23, 1959, in Marion, Indiana, Gerald grew up with a deep sense of family. Throughout his life, Gerald was a man who wore many hats. His career spanned multiple fields, but it was his hard work ethic and drive to provide for his family that got him through life. He found joy in simple pleasures, like spending time with his dog, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought him endless pride and happiness. He had a passion for fishing, time at the range and spending time with family no matter what the activity was.
Gerald was known for being a straight shooter—someone who spoke his mind and always said exactly what he thought. Though his bluntness was sometimes mistaken for harshness, those who truly understood him appreciated his authenticity and the unwavering integrity behind his words. He was also as stubborn as they come—once Gerald set his mind to something, there was no changing it, ever. While this trait sometimes led to disagreements, it was also what made him a determined and dependable man, someone who would never give up on the people he loved or the principles he believed in. His tenacity and resilience were a testament to his character, and left a lasting impact on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
Gerald’s family was his greatest treasure. He leaves behind his three children—Tina Collins (Eric), Rian Lemons, and Gerald C. Lemons, Jr. (Lindsey)—who were the center of his world. His legacy lives on in his six grandchildren and eight and a half great-grandchildren, who were a constant source of joy and pride for him. Gerald is also survived by his siblings: Walter Lemons, Mark Lemons, Tammy Hickl, and two others.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Lemons, in 2023, whose guidance was instrumental in shaping the man he became.
