Gerald E. Ricker

Gerald Edgar Ricker, passed away at home surrounded by his family on September 29, 2024. He was born on May 7, 1938, in Anderson, Indiana.

Gerald was a loving husband, father and papaw. He was a hard worker who retired from Delco Remy. Since retirement, he enjoyed restoring old furniture, snow blowing his families driveways, and spending time with his grandkids and great grandkids. He sure loved his grandkids and made sure he watched them open Christmas gifts every year even when he was bound to a wheelchair. He loved the Lord and even in his final days, loved to hear the gospel music and loved to hear his wife sing to him. He was a man of little words but had a heart of gold and a great sense of humor.

He is survived by his loving wife, who cared for him till the very end, Gail Ricker. They have been married for 69 wonderful years.

He is also survived by his two sons, who loved him deeply, Dave Ricker and his wife Debbie and Rodney Ricker. Brother Jim Ricker. Grandkids Kylie (Josh Delk) Ricker, Kierra (Danny) Delk, Brittany (Kevin) Adams, Clint Ricker, Aaron (Angie) Ricker, Anthony (Kendra) Ricker. Great grandkids Mackenzie Ricker, Lariena Apparico, Arieanna Estep, Isaiah Ricker, Amelia Ricker, Brody Ricker, Karlee Ricker, Noah Ricker, and Laynie Ricker and one great-great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Horace and Bessie Ricker.

The family will gather privately to honor Gerald.
