Mrs. Gladys Hood was born February 20, 1959 in Indianapolis, Indiana.
She was daughter of the late Lawrence Stevens and Bonnie McReynolds.
Gladys was educated in the Indianapolis Public School Corporation attending Hazel Hark Hendricks # 37 and Arsenal Technical High School.
Gladys attended Green Acres Missionary Baptist Church and Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church and was baptized at the age 8.
Gladys was blessed to become mother to her son Darryl Forrest and daughter LaTausha Forrest. She was blessed to be a grandmother and great-grandmother.
Gladys fell in love with her best friend, Kevin Hood, and they married in 1998.
Gladys had a great sense of humor and had a passion for everything Betty Boop!
She recently caught the travel bug and enjoyed Las Vegas, Florida and cruising to the Bahamas. She also enjoyed doing arts and crafts.
Gladys had a serving spirit often quietly helped anyone in need; she enjoyed volunteering at St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church.
She was employed by Wishard Hospital for over 10 years and was with American Village Nursing Home.
Gladys departed this life on February 14, 2018 at the age of the 58 years, 11 months, and 25 days.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence Stevens and Bonnie McReynolds; also by brothers, Charles Herrell and Darrell Herrell; and sisters, Sharon Avery and Keryl Lynn Beverly.
Gladys leaves to cherish her memory her devoted husband, Kevin Hood; her children, Darry Forrest (Paula) and LaTausha Forrest; her grandchildren, Ebony Twyman, NaTausha Forrest and Elijah Forrest; and great-grandson, Kei-Von Forrest;
stepchildren, Kevin Hood, Jr., Tiffany Hood, Amber Hood, and Christian Hood;
sisters, Cliffaredia Swift, Glenda Herrell, Tena Wooten, Jacqueline Purnell (Ricky), and Delores McReynolds; stepbrothers, Michael Reed (Amy), Roddey McReynolds, and Lawrence McReynolds (Jerri); stepmother, Thelma Stevens; and sisters, LaNita Nixon, Kimmy, Serena Thompson, Eva Lambert (Sam), Wanda Luster (Earnest) and Elma Franklin. Gladys is also survived by a host of relatives, extended family, and friends.
