Gladys Pearl Wheatley

Gladys Pearl Wheatley, age 71, of Anderson, passed away surrounded by her family on June 1, 2019. She was born on April 10, 1948 to the late John and Nila Garrison.

Gladys was a homemaker for most of her life. She spent all the time she could with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a member of Faith Assembly Church of God for many years. Gladys loved to sit outside and enjoy the weather and you could sometimes find her taking strolls in her power chair. She always made people laugh whenever she could. She touched so many lives and throughout the years adopted many kids and grandkids through her nurturing demeanor. She was a wonderful person and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Gladys is survived by her husband of 32 years, Paul Wheatley; children Talema Gray, Chris (Glenda) Gray, Shanna (Dillon) Strong, Dustin (Ta-Kara Hammers) Wheatley, and Harley Wheatley; grandchildren Brianna Brewer, Cameron Brewer, Dalton (Maddie) Gray, Shasta Doty, James Doty, Makaela Doty, Travis Strong, Daxton Strong, Grayson Strong, Julie Hammers, and Skyla Wheatley; brother Gary (Kay) Garrison; and many nieces, nephews, and special friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, granddaughter Josephine Strong, and sister Juanita Pitts.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Faith Assembly Church of God in memory of Gladys.

A visitation will be held on Monday June 10, 2019 from 1-3pm with a funeral service beginning at 3pm at Legacy Cremation and Funeral Service – Anderson.
