Dennis was born to Herman and Lillie Hinson Looper on Monteray, TN. He lived most of his life in Indiana.

Dennis is survived by his wife of 46 years, Joyce Looper; children Rhonda (Mike) Utter, Melanie Stephenson, Mike Looper, Jeff (Winnie) Johnson, and Jenifer Ables; 4 grandchildren Katy Utter, Kenny (Rachel) Stephenson, Lauren (Scott) Rabins, and Alexander Johnson; 3 beautiful great-grandchildren Easton Stephenson, Turner Rabins, and Gracyn Johnson with another on the way in May; siblings Claude (Sandy) Looper, Paul Looper, Joe Looper, and Anna (Doug) England.

He is preceded in death by his parents.
