Harold “Hal” Joseph Knoles, 60, of Indianapolis, passed away on November 24, 2021. He was born on August 3, 1961 in Wichita, KS to Billy and Norma (Newman) Knoles. Hal was raised in California, where he graduated from Apple Valley High School in 1980. He earned his Eagle Scout with Gold, Silver and Bronze Palms, in which he was very proud. Afterwards, he joined the U.S. Air Force. Eventually, Hal moved to Indianapolis, IN and worked different warehouse type jobs, usually as a forklift operator. He was owner/operator of Barn Busters from 1992-2009, where he reclaimed old barn wood. He was a member of the American Legion, Post # 495, Indianapolis, IN where he was SGT at Arms.

Hal loved to hunt and fish but missed the opportunity to take his nephews. That was their great plan.

He is preceded in death by his father, Billy Knoles.

Hal is survived by his mother, Norma Knoles, sisters, Hope Evans, and Donna Curtis, half-brother Mark Knoles as well as their spouses and several nieces and nephews.
There will be a Celebration of Life at The American Legion Post #495, 8725 E 38th St, Indianapolis, IN 46226 on January 8, 2022 from 1pm-5pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The American Legion Post #495.
Cremation arrangements provided by Legacy Cremation & Funeral Services – Lawrence.
