Helen Borden

Helen Borden, age 91, of Anderson, passed away on November 22, 2020 surrounded by her family. She was born in Waterproof, LA to the late Dan and Eula Pettit.

Helen was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was a strong woman before it was normal to be a strong woman in her era. She was an extremely hard worker and raised her children to be strong and independent. At a young age, Helen adopted her 3 daughters and was the best mother to them. She worked as a nurse for 40 plus years. She was a talented seamstress, always sewing and quilting. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Helen is survived by her three daughters Mary Strickland (Clark Roy), Martha Harper (Gary), and Charlotte Johnson (Ricky); grandchildren Jennifer Bickham (Keyon), Tiffany Bellue (Wayne), Britney Thompson (Paul), Michelle Guillory, Nikki Cockerham, Leah Green (Jeff), Misty Haynie (Justin), Andrew Harper (Mary), Ryan Johnson (Natalie), and Brandon Johnson (Chasity); great-grandchildren Logan, Kalijah, Lexi, Ethan, Mckenzi, Zane, Emma, Allie, Eli, Aiden, Dakota, Brock, Jacob, Ian, Levi, Asher, Helen, Harper, William, Warren, Ali, Dylon, Bryce, and Caden; 2 great-great grandchildren Charli Kate and Wyatt James; a host of friends here and in Louisiana; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her parents listed above; Husband Woodrow Logan Borden; grandson-in-law Dustin Guillory; and brother Dan Pettit.

A visitation will be held on Friday, November 27, 2020 from 11-12pm with a funeral service beginning at 12pm at Legacy Cremation and Funeral Service – Anderson.
