Helen Douglas Cummins, 84, passed away on January 18, 2025. She was born on March 27, 1940, in Newcomb, Tennessee to Kermit and Fronia Douglas. Helen worked a variety of places including Standard Grocery and Ford Motor Company. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, and being with family.
She was predeceased by her husband of 34 years, Donald Ray Cummins; her former husband, Thomas Clements; her siblings, Chester Douglas, Kenneth Douglas, and Barbara Hensley; and three children, James, Bethany, and Patrick Clements.
Left to treasure her memory are her children: Barbara Spangler (Joe), Michael Clements (Rita), Belynda Gilpin (Jeff), and Aaron Cummins (Katie); stepchildren: Randy Cummins, Mike Cummins (Kathy), Stacy French (Doug), Mary Bort (Fred), and Tina Jones (David). She leaves behind 17 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Private graveside services will be scheduled for a future date. Helen’s final resting place will be at Washington Park East Cemetery, Indianapolis, Indiana. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
