Ms. Helen Ruth Johnson

Helen Ruth (McElfresh) Johnson, 87, passed away on Easter Morning April 12th, 2020. She was born in Stonington, Illinois on May 22nd 1932. Her family moved to Ohio where she lived and went to school until joining the Marine Corp.

She was a member at Fountain Square Salvation Army Corp.  She attended Garfield Christian Church the last 4 years. Mom loved her family, her pink cowgirl boots and all her cowgirl gear, country music, she got into making jewelry this past year, her favorite flower is Lilly of the Valley , she loved to go on road trips. Many loving arms were waiting to welcome her home.

She was preceded in death by her Husband Hubert Ronald Johnson, her parents Arley and Blanche (Kinon) McElfresh, sisters Esther Utter and Lucy Turney. Ruth is survived by her 5 children Ronald C. Johnson, Michael A. Johnson, Robin A. Rodriguez (Roberto), David S. Johnson and Hubert Mark Johnson (Shelley). Sister Mildred Stewart and Brothers Melvin Mcelfresh (Rose) and David Mcelfresh (Maryann) .  She was blessed with 15 grandchildren whom blessed her with 20 great grandchildren. There will be a private service May 4th for family and there will have a celebration  of life at a later date.
