Herbert E. Hollenback Jr.

Herbert was born January 30, 1950 to Mary Catherine Hollenback (Watson) and Herbert Eugene Hollenback Sr. in Anderson, Indiana. He lived most of his life in Anderson.

Herbert attended Anderson Community Schools and graduated in 1969 from Anderson High School. He then enlisted in the US Army where he served his country proudly. During his military time, he did a tour in Turkey. He then worked for Swifty Oil Company for 36 years as well as Hoosier Park for 25 years. He took great pride in being a husband, father, grandfather, and friend to those he loved. He loved sports, especially Anderson Indians Basketball and the Indianapolis Colts. 

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Hilda Estella Hollenback, sons Rick, Mike, and Mark Hollenback. sisters Brenda Lawrence and Debra Gaw, grandchildren Austin and Alexis, great-grandchildren Grayson, Roman, and Violet, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

He is preceded in death by his parents Mary and Herb Hollenback, grandparents Marie Watson (Lakey) and John Watson, also grandparents Muriel Hollenback (Huffman) and Alfred Paul Hollenback, sister Sandra Toombs, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. 

A visitation will be held on Monday November 4, 2024, from 11am-1pm with a funeral service beginning at 1pm at Legacy Cremation and Funeral Services - Anderson. Burial will take place at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
