Jacqueline Garcia Figueroa

Jaqueline Garcia Figueroa, “Jacky”, age 41, passed away on Wednesday, November 3 2021. Jacqueline passed away from colorectal cancer. Leaving behind her two sons Exson, Dereck, and her daughter Yaleishka. She also leaves behind her father, Roberto Garcia and older brother Roberto Garcias. She was preceded in death by her mother, Carmen Figueroa.

She was born in Bayamon, Puerto Rico, Jacqueline moved from Puerto Rico to Ocala Florida. She was part of the 1999 class  from Papa Juan Xxii High School. Jacqueline’s passion was doing hair. She pursued  her dreams of becoming a cosmetologist. 

Jaqueline has been battling colorectal cancer since 2002 but did not find out until the year 2020 . In 2020 she had surgery to try to remove the cancer. Doctor told Jaqueline that the cancer was successfully removed.  In April 2021, Jaqueline arrived in Indiana. Second day on arrival she fell into the hospital complaining of pain she was feeling. Two weeks later she was given a surgery, where doctors found out that her cancer had returned and that there was nothing they could do. Sadly giving the news to her children and family, Jaqueline was a fighter. Not wanting to show her pain or suffering.

Jacqueline was loved by everyone. Having a smile on her face and helping others. In her last moments she was surrounded by the people who loved her. Listening to her loved ones’ voices for the one last time. From here and far. Jaqueline will be missed.
