James Wilford Ell

James Wilford Ell, 87, of Markleville, passed away at Countryside Health and Livingon April 29, 2016. James was born on September 29, 1928 in Akron, Ohio. He moved to Anderson in 1950. James served in the United States Army then worked for General Motors in Plant 3 for 30 years until his retirement in the early1980’s.

James enjoyed working and rebuilding cars and refurbishing antique furniture. He liked fishing and camping particularly in Minnesota. He was a fan of Disney’s Mickey Mouse and almost always had a sucker in his mouth.

James is survived by his wife, Kathie Bruce Ell; children, Veronica (Rick) Smith, James(Teresa) Ell, and Paul (Cyndee) Ell; stepchildren, Donita (Wayne) Drake, Jacob(Mandy) King, and JoAnna (Chris) Moore; grandchildren, Lacy Smith, Ricky(Elizabeth) Smith, Jesse (fiancé, Becky) Ell, R. Paul (Kaylee) Richwine, David Richwine, Hayleigh Ell, James (Tarrah) Greenwall, Vala Moore, and Malachi Moore; and eight great-grandchildren, Colton, Dean, Wesley, Everett, Evelyn,Savannah, Isaiah, and Lillee who is yet to be born.

The service will be at Legacy Cremation & Funeral Services on Thursday, May 5, 2016, at2:00 PM with visitation one hour prior to the service.

Contributions in memory of James may be made to the American Cancer Society and the Alzheimer’s Association.
