James Jim' L. Keller

January 18, 1952 — September 13, 2017

James “Jim” L. Keller

65, of Fishers, passed away on September 13, 2017 in his home. He was born on January 18, 1952 in Columbus, IN to the late James R. and Slyvia (Henderson) Keller. Jim retired in 2011 from the Indiana Heart Hospital as an RN.
Jim served as Forced Recon in the U.S. Marine Corp for his country during the Vietnam War. He was a POW, amongst many other things, during this time. He was medically discharged, but would have gone back to the Marines in a heartbeat if they would have let him. Jim was a member of the VFW, along with the American Legion Post #470 in Fishers. He is very proud of all American Soldiers, and was honored to be amongst them.
Jim was an avid golfer, and frequently visited Plum Creek Golf Course in Carmel and Buck Creek Golf Course in Lafayette. He was a jokester and a member of the “Liars” Club. And Jim loved to be in the pool with his kids and grandkids, and being a ticklemonster for his grandbabies. He also enjoyed doing anything for charities, especially when it was for families with children or service members.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents mentioned above. He is survived by his wife, Faith (a member of the Northview Christian Church in Carmel); son, Joseph (Molly Vogel) Hickman; daughter, Hope Brown of Texas; grandchildren, Noah Hickman, Addilyn Hickman, and Addison Martin; sister, Diane Beall of Delphi, IN; and niece, Angie Rishel of Delphi, IN.
There will be a memorial service at 3pm on Sunday, October 1, 2017 at Plum Creek Golf Course Clubhouse, 12401 Lynnwood Blvd, Carmel, IN with a celebration of life afterwards. Please wear Red, White, and Blue colors. Memorial Contributions can be made in Jim’s Memory to your favorite charity, The Golden Star USA Foundation, or Community Hospice. Arrangements provided by Legacy Cremation & Funeral Services – Lawrence.
