James Randall “Randy” Ferguson of Anderson, Indiana, passed away on April 3, 2025, in Indianapolis, IN. Born on December 16, 1965 to Larry Lee Ferguson and Susie King in Anderson, Indiana.
A graduate of Highland High School, Class of 1984, Randy went on to build a successful career as a project manager in the construction industry. He was a hard worker through and through—always building, fixing, and doing. But beyond the job, Randy’s true passions were found on the water, on the track, and with his family.
Racing was in his blood. Growing up around the sport with his father, Randy spent years behind the wheel and in the pits. He later found joy watching races, cheering on others, and reminiscing about the good old days. His love for motorcycles and the open road brought him peace, and his fishing trips—whether at Lake Minnetonka in Minnesota, on a houseboat in Kentucky, or casting into the ocean—were some of his happiest moments. His shelves proudly displayed racing and family fishing trophies, tangible reminders of a life well-lived.
More than anything, Randy loved his family. He had the biggest heart and was generous to a fault—always showing up, always giving more, always loving deeply.
He is survived by his life partner, Lisa Fields; his children: Lucretia Ferguson, Austin Ferguson, Haylee Ferguson, Kara Butler, Noah Norton, Coty (Merina) Fields, Cole Fields, and bonus daughter Jennifer Randolph; and grandchildren: Seth, Trenton, Jaxtyn Ferree, Brandon Randolph, Aralynn Duncil, Alylah Burrows, Hayden Fields, and many others who knew him as a father and grandfather figure. He is also survived by his siblings: Larry Ferguson, Tim King, and Bryan King; his Uncle Bud; and numerous nieces, nephews, and loved ones.
Randy was preceded in death by his father, Larry Lee Ferguson; his mother, Susie King; his brother, William Lee Ferguson; and his Pops, Boyd King.
Services for Randy will be held on Monday, April 7, 2025, at Legacy Funeral Home in Anderson.
Visitation will take place from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, with the funeral service beginning at 1:00 PM.
A burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery next to his father, Larry Lee Ferguson.
