James Ray Godby

James Ray Godby, 73, of Muncie, passed away on Sunday February 3, 2019 at Ball Memorial Hospital. He was born on February 22, 1945 to the late James and Evelyn (White) Godby.

James worked as a truck driver for most of his life. He served in the US Army for a period of time before starting his family. James was always smiling and did not know a stranger. He spent his free time watching westerns, football, traveling, and spending time with his grandchildren. He loved to feed coffee to his horses on summer mornings. He was a wonderful father and grandfather and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

James is survived by his children David Godby (Heather), Lori Bell (Corey), and Jason Godby (Ashley); grandchildren Dalton, Ethan, Aubrey, Samantha (Michael), Megan, Sarah, Xavier, Brittiny (Tanis), Sabrina, Jaylen, and Dallas; 4 great-grandchildren; siblings Don, Dan, Dean, Timmy, Evey, Faye, Sherry, and Darlene; Brenda Hiday, the mother of his children; step children Missy, Scott, Terry, Dustin, and Renee; and many aunts and uncles.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

A Celebration of Life will be held on February 22, 2019 at 5:30PM at Central Community Chapel. 1004 Indiana Ave, Anderson, IN 46012
