James “Bo” William Schwarz passed away on February 27th, 2020 at Community South Hospital. He passed away peacefully with family by his side.
He was born to Ervin and Lillian Schwarz on September 29th, 1952, at St. Francis Hospital in Beech Grove, Indiana. He is survived by his brother Ervin “Sonny” Schwarz, and his sisters Sharon Bailey, Paula Mize, and Mary Montgomery. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and their children. He was preceded in death by his mother Lillian, father Ervin, and brother Teddy.
He graduated from Southport High School, and worked various jobs as an auto mechanic and as a boat mechanic and engineer. Most recently, he worked for Underwood Industrial Contractors in Indianapolis. He loved his family, his friends, old cars, boats, motorcycles, travelling, and race cars. He has sailed all over the world, his passport is full of stamps, and he even lived for a while in the Philippines. He has met many famous people during his travels. He met the Bee Gees while working on a boat that took the band on a tour around Fort Lauderdale. He also met Jimmy Buffett and was included in a group photo on the back cover of the “You Had To Be There” (live) album.
Bo lived a full and exiting life, travelled the world, met interesting people, and was always willing to help anyone who needed it in any way he could. He was a loving, giving, caring person. He was a registered cornea, vein, and tissue donor with the Indiana Donor Network and wanted to continue helping people even after his death. His donations can potentially help 50 or more people.
He will be buried in the Greenwood Cemetery in Greenwood, Indiana. A non-traditional service will be held at Legacy Funeral Services in Indianapolis on W. Morris St. The service will be held Friday, March 6th from 12pm- 2pm to celebrate his life, followed by burial at Greenwood Cemetery immediately afterwards.
He will be forever loved and missed by all who know him.
